Fresh

There really isn't such thins a "fresh start." You always carry the burdens of your past with you, even as you enter into something new. New Years' resolutions are sort of silly. Shouldn't you try to change your bad habits or begin to form good ones the second you think of them? I think that people are far too obsessed with perfection, myself included, even though I know it's futile. One of the lines in the song "Good Lives" says "I never wanted to be like you or all the rest, I've always been the first one to settle for second best"-how brilliant is that? The harder that I try to shoot for perfection, the more I realize that I'm okay with falling short. It's not laziness, it's being content. I don't want to push myself to make a mark on the whole world. I'm okay with being important to just a few people in it. Isn't that what really matters?
